Salted Chocolate Chip and Walnut Cookies

This has to be the best chocolate chip cookie recipe I've come across, I love the combination of dark chocolate, walnuts and sea salt. They are also so soft, they take me back to the giant chocolate chip Avila cookies (memories).

These are so tasty make sure you make a double or a triple batch

Ingredients

  • 125 g unsalted butter (softened)
  • 110 g brown sugar
  • 55 g white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 150 g plain flour
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 100 g dark chocolate (Chips or Chop)
  • 70 g walnuts (Chopped)

Instructions

    Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C.

    Line two baking trays with baking paper.
  • 3
    In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugars until fluffy and smooth.

    Add the egg and vanilla and beat again until smooth.
  • 5
    Sift in the flour, salt and baking powder into the bowl and mix gently.

    Stir in the chocolate and nuts.
  • 7
    To make the cookies, spoon dessertspoons of dough onto the baking trays (leaving space for spreading).

    Bake for until pale golden.

    Cool on the trays for before moving to a wire rack to cool.

    I made these again yesterday, this time with macadamias and a tablespoon of freshly brewed espresso - tasty!

      Also this cookie dough is really soft so consider chilling it prior to baking
