Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (browned)
  • 1 pound ground turkey (browned)
  • 1 jar chili seasoning (use at least ½ jar of seasoning. More for those who like the bolder taste.)
  • 1 habinera pepper (diced very small)
  • 1 sweet onion (you can add more or less according to your taste)
  • 4 tbs minced garlic (again more or less according to taste)
  • salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 1 can black beans (drained)
  • 3 cans dark red kidney beans (drained)
  • 3 cans light red kidney beans (drained)
  • 2 cans pinto beans (drained)
  • 2 cans diced tomatoes
  • 4 cups vegetable juice
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 peppers (use either red, orange or green. We mix red and orange. They have a more sweet taste.)

    brown the ground beef and ground turkey together until done.

    put ground meat and all other ingredients into a slow cooker on high until maximum heat level is attained. Then reduce heat to medium and let sit over night. In AM turn slow cooker down to warm and leave until dinner. Stir occasionally.

    When adding water to the chili ensure that in the beginning it is juicy because this will thicken as the chili cooks. Check often to see if more water is needed. All ingredients are to taste and not specific to the recipe. The above are just what we prefer. You can always adjust to your pallet

    The longer it cooks the better it gets. Even better after it has cooked for and then put in the fridge overnight and re-heated.
