Sate Marinade

Ingredients

  • ¼ ts Garlic powder
  • 1 ts Ground cumin
  • 2 ts Ground coriander
  • 1 ts Ground ginger
  • 1 ts Sambal Oelek
  • 5 tbs Ketjap Manis (Sweet soy sauce)
  • 2 tbs Water
  • 1 lb Pork Tenderloin or chicken (Cut in approx. 1x 1x ½ inch pieces)

    Cut the meat in approx. 1x1x1/2 inch pieces. Mix all the spices, Ketjap and water together. Toss meat to in marinade to coat evenly and refrigerate at least one hour, preferably overnight.

    Soak bamboo skewers (overnight if possible) in water. Put 4-5 pieces on a skewer and grill over a hot grill on both sides. Alternatively, grill about 4 inches under the broiler at 400F, per side.

    Serve with Indonesian Sate Sauce and top with fried onions. A good side dish is french fries (also dipped in the Sate Sauce!).
