Mongolian Beef and Broccoli

Ingredients

  • 2 tsps cornstarch
  • 3 T Soy sauce (plus 2 more tsp)
  • 2 tsps rice wine
  • 4 tsps sesame oil
  • 1 pound sirloin steak (thinly sliced against the grain)
  • ¼ tsp kosher salt
  • 4 cups broccoli flowerettes
  • 4 med scallions, cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 1 tb minced garlic
  • ½ tsp minced fresh ginger
  • 2 tbs brown sugar
  • 1 tb oyster sauce

    In a shallow glass container, whisk together cornstarch, 2 tsp soy sauce, rice wine, and 1 tsp of sesame oil. Season the steak with salt, add to the marinade, Turn to coat. Let sit at room temperature for .

    Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add broccoli, and cook until bright green and crisp tender. Drain and run cold water over it to stop cooking.
