Ingredients

  • 1 cup long grain brown rice
  • 1 teaspoon oil or butter
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ onion diced
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ¾ cups water
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste or sauce

    Rinse and drain the rice and set aside. In a 2 quart pot over medium high heat, heat the oil. Add the cumin and chili powder and saute for a few seconds. Add the onion and salt and continue cooking until the onion is golden and soft about .
