HERSHEY'S "PERFECTLY CHOCOLATE" Chocolate Cake Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ c sugar
  • 1 ¾ c flour
  • ¾ c cocoa powder
  • 1 ½ tsps baking powder
  • 1 ½ tsps baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c milk
  • ½ c vegetable oil
  • 2 tsps vanilla extract
  • 1 c boiling water
  • frosting
  • ½ c butter
  • ⅔ c cocoa powder
  • 3 c powder sugar
  • ⅓ c milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

    Heat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour 9x13 cake pan. Stir together sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt in large bowl. Add eggs, milk, oil and vanilla; beat on medium speed of mixer . Stir in boiling water (batter will be thin). Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Let cool in pan until completely cool. Frost.

    "PERFECTLY CHOCOLATE" CHOCOLATE FROSTING, Melt butter. Stir in cocoa. Alternately add powdered sugar and milk, beating to spreading consistency. Add small amount additional milk, if needed. Stir in vanilla. About 2 cups frosting
