Filled Panettone

If you want to make a panettone just a little bit more special or to use it as a dessert rather than as a simple cake this is a very easy way to do it.

Ingredients

  • 1 Panettone
  • 500 g Mascarpone
  • 100 g candied peel
  • 2tbls almond liqueur (Cointreau works well too)
  • 75 g icing sugar

Instructions

Keep screen awake

    Mix the mascarpone,candied peel and sugar together. Blend in the liqueur.

    Slice the panettone through three times. Spread each layer with the mascarpone mixture and re-assemble the cake. Chill.

    Remove from fridge an hour before serving.
