Ingredients

  • 3 T flour
  • 1 pinch salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 pounds)
  • 4 T butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 - 8 oz package of button mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 T shallots, finely chopped
  • ⅔ cup marsala wine
  • ⅔ cup chicken broth
  • cupp heavy cream
  • 2 T chopped fresh thyme

    In a large ziplock bag, place flour, 1 tsp salt, and 1/2 tsp pepper. Add chicken, seal bag and shake well, until chicken is evenly coated. Set aside.

    In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 T butter.k. Place the chicken in the pan and cook until the chicken is golden brown on both side, about . Transfer to a plate.

    Put remaining butter in hot skillet. Add garlic and cook . Add mushrooms and cook, stirring frequently until mushrooms release juices and being to brown - about . Add shallots and 1/2 tsp salt. Cook for 2 more minutes.

    Add wine, broth, cream and thyme. Stir well. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to low. Allow saurce to simmer for . When sauce has thickened, add chicken back to pan. Simmer for 2-3 more minutes until chicken is warmed through.
