Beef Tips served over mashed potatoes

2-3 pkgs. stew meat, cut into bite size pieces 8-10 russett potatoes, peeled and cut into pieces dash of basil dash of garlic powder add salt n pepper

  • 2-3 pkgs Beef Tips (cut into bite size poeces)
  • 8-10 potatoes (peeled and cut into pieces)

    Take stew meat and cut them into bite sizes poeces; place nonstick 5 qt. fry pan on stove and hear on medium. Place meat in dry fry pan then add the basil, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Let the meat brown and let all the liquid from meat to evaporate. At bottom will be browned pieces of meat; add water to make a gravy. Cover meat to braise in its own flavors. Prepare a cornstarch slurry to pour into the meat mixture to thicken the juices.

    In a durch oven place the peeled and cut pieces of potatoes. Cover potatoes with water also add salt. Bring to boil then lower heat to medium and cover tightly. Check potatoes every so often until soft and ready to be mashed. Drain potaoes then place back into dutch oven. Add salt and pepper, butter then milk. Either take a hand mixer or a potato masher then mash potatoes.

    Place Potatoes on a plate then ladle beef tips over the potatoes. Add salt and pepper to taste.
