this freezes well, I make it and put 1/2 cup in ziploc snack bags and freeze it for a nice side dish.

Ingredients

  • 3 c fresh basil (united grocers)
  • 1 ½ c toasted pecans
  • 4 cloves garlic fresh
  • ½ c grated parmesan cheese fresh
  • ¾ c extra virgin olive oil
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

Instructions

    Blend the basil, pecans, garlic, Parmesan cheese, olive oil, salt, and pepper together in a food processor until the mixture becomes a smooth paste. freezes very well. drain cooked pasta, reserve 1 cup pasta water, add pesto sauce to pasta to taste, add pasta water as needed to keep it moist. serve hot.
