Basic Bread Recipe

This is a basic yeast bread recipe we use with freahly milled flour. Easy to double or triple.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups Hot Water (No more than 130 degree)
  • ⅓ cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • ⅓ cup Local Honey
  • 2 tsps Salt
  • 1 Egg
  • 4-4 ½ cups freashly milled flour (I use 2 cups hard red and 1 cup hard white will yield about 4 ½ cups)
  • 1 tb Lecithin
  • 1 tb Yeast (Fast Rising)

    Combine EVO Oil, Honey, salt, egg and water. Stir using kitchen aid to break egg. Add 3 cups of Flour and combine with liquid using kitchen aid. Add lecithin, yeast and 1 - 1 1/2 cup of flour. Knead using kitchen aid for about . Let rise for until doubles in size. Punch down, cut in half and quick knead in shape desired and place in Loaf pans. Let rise again for . Pre-heat oven to 350F and bake .
