Homemade applesauce. Makes about 8 pints.

Ingredients

  • 6 grannie smith apples
  • water
  • 2 tbsps truvia bakers blend sweetener
  • 2 tbsps brown sugar packed
  • 1 ½ tsps ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp ground nutmeg

    COMBINE apples with just enough water to prevent sticking in a large stainless steel saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to low, cover and stir occasionally, until apples are tender (time will depend upon the variety of apple and their maturity) I cook these until they are falling apart, then mash with a potato masher.

    Add sweetener, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg, simmer for another , put in pint jars and refrigerate until ready to serve.
