Apple Flavored Breakfast Cake
When I inherited my mother-in-law's recipe collection, I found this written on an old, yellowed, index card, tucked into a 1933 cookbook.
I always recommend using unsalted butter. It's healthier & makes the finished product taste better.
Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 7/12 c. sugar
- 1 c. flour
- ½ tsp cinnamon (ground)
- ¼ tsp nutmeg (ground)
- ½ c. milk
- 3 tbsps baking powder
- 1 c. oats
- ¼ c. shortening
- 1 apple (large)
- 2 tbsps butter (unsalted)
- 9 halves pecans ()
