My mother-in-law has numerous older editions of this cookbook in her collection. This particular one she gave to my then-single husband for his birthday in 1984.

This recipe is listed as an appetizer, but would certainly work as a light dessert as well To be really creative, serve it out of melon half.

Ingredients

  • 15 ¼ oz pineapple (canned chunks in juice)
  • 3 c. cantaloupe (balls [Option 1a])
  • 3 c. honeydew melon (balls [Option 1b])
  • 1 c. strawberries (halved lengthwise)
  • ¼ c. orange marmalade
  • 2 tsbp. orange liqueur

Instructions

Keep screen awake

    Drain pineapple, reserving liquid.
  • 2
    Combine pineapple, melons, & strawberries in bowl.
  • 3
    In separate bowl, combine reserved pineapple juice, marmalade, & liqueur. Pour over fruit & stir gently.

    Chill ., stirring occasionally.
